EDITH HOLM Obituary

Edith S. Holm A long time Tiburon resident passed away peacefully on October 2, 2010. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Edith was the beloved wife of 63 years of the late Russell H. Holm. Edith was born and raised in St. Albens, NY. She was an only child. She was gifted with a beautiful voice and sang at Radio City Music Hall and in numerous church choirs throughout her life, including many years in the choir at St. Hilary's Church. She was active in a bridge club spanning over thirty years. She and Russell were long time active members of the St. Francis Yacht Club, the San Francisco Yacht Club, and the Tiburon Yacht Club, and spent time tending their beautiful rose garden and admiring her beloved humming birds. Edith lived an enthusiastic life. She earned her private pilot's license while living in the Midwest, and had a passion for fast cars. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Edith is survived by her three children; Diane Fitzgerald (Ken), Douglas (Laurel), and Eric, and six grandchildren; Kathy, Kristie, Kevin, Michael, Natalie, and Russell. The Holm family would like to thank Aegis Living of Corte Madera and Edith's caregivers for their skilled care and support of our mother for over four years. A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at 11:00 AM at St. Hilary's Church, 761 Hilary Drive, Tiburon, CA 94920. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edith's name may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, 350 Los Ranchitos Rd., San Rafael, CA, 94903, or to your favorite charity.
