Felicitas "Pumpkin" Alfiche Arago Beloved by so many for her compassionate heart and generous spirit, passed away peacefully in the arms of three of her daughters and one of her grand-daughters in Mill Valley, California on January 20, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Felicitas was born and raised in Kahuku on the North Shore of O'ahu on March 3, 1927. She came to California to attend college and met her husband Joaquin. Felicitas dedicated her life to raising her children and most of her grandchildren. Felicitas was an avid gardner, a creative home chef, a supporter of the Hawaiian culture, a yoga practitioner, a consummate reader of literature, and a talented seamstress. All of Felicitas' interests inspired her children and grandchildren in their lives. Felicitas is survived by her husband Joaquin, her nine children and their spouses: Suzanne and Dean Carrell, Steven and Catherine, Michael and MaryBeth, Michelle and Ken Hodge, Candace, Phyllis, Laura and Peter Johnson, Joaquin, Jr. and Judith, and Adrienne. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mill Valley Golf Clubhouse, 280 Buena Vista, Mill Valley, California. Donations may be made to Hospice by the Bay.
