FREDERICK FUCHS Obituary

Frederick A Fuchs Nov. 24, 1939-Dec. 27, 2010 Fred Fuchs passed away peacefully at home with his wife and children at his side. Born in Louisville, KY, Fred attended Trinity High School and later Bellarmine University on scholarship where he received his BA, with an accounting major. He earned his MBA at Indiana University on a teaching fellowship from 1961-1963. Fred worked as a CPA for several large accounting firms, first in Denver Colorado where he first fell in love with the mountains, and later in his beloved San Francisco Bay Area where he lived for 34 years. In the second half of his career, Fred served as a CFO for a real estate development and management company. He also founded a private real estate investment and management company that his son and son-in-law continue to direct and operate. He was smart and curious; always humble; patient, loyal and honest; but most-of-all, he was a tireless and selfless giver. He gave of his time, his knowledge, and his heart at every opportunity. He was a consummate teacher and student, taking satisfaction in either role. It was his spirit of giving that made him a peaceful and happy person to the very end. Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara, his siblings, Lois, Bill, and Diane, his children, Jason (and wife Jeanice) and Kisa (and husband Linton), and seven young grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on January 22nd, 2011 at 2:00 PM at The Marin Art and Garden Center in Ross, California. Fred and his family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to UCSF Foundation Genitourinary Medical Oncology Group/ Amy M Lin, MD 220 Montgomery St., 5th Floor San Francisco, CA 94143 or to Hospice by the Bay www.hospicebythebay.org
