JAMES EVERSON Obituary

James W. Everson Passed away September 18 at 45 after a courageous battle with melanoma. Jim passionately embraced everything from fatherhood to philosophy, but was grounded in love for family and friends. He was a fearless romantic; a teacher and a student; a gentle and generous spirit; a wonderful father, brother and friend. Born February 6, 1965, Jim grew up in Omaha, NE., graduated from Millard North High School in 1983 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from the Kansas City Art Institute. He migrated to the Bay Area working as a game designer for Broderbund and later as a consultant/savior to countless Mac devotees. He is survived by his son Oliver, daughter Amélie, wife Sylvie Astrid, of San Rafael, CA; brother Jeff Everson, sister Julie Miller and her husband Phil, nephew Ryan, and niece Molly, of Omaha, NE; and grandmother Jeanette Dik of Sioux City, IA. He was preceded in death by his father Jack W. Everson and his mother M. Janice Dopheide. Services are pending. Donations may be made toward Jim's children's education at: Sylvie Astrid for the Oliver and Amelie Education Fund, 775 East Blithedale Ave, Ste. 191, Mill Valley, CA 94941.

Jim was brilliant, compassionate, creative, gentle, deep--one of my favorite human beings on the planet. He helped me with countless Mac issues, my husband and daughter as well, and more importantly, shared of himself, his love for his family at each visit. We all will hold him with love. I am so sorry for your loss of this wonderful man. Carolyn Ingram

I love all your drawings but especially the one of you arriving at the Pearly Gates and your conversation with the gatekeeper reviewing your life. That's where I imagine you now, and I'm guessing you have him in stitches, just as you always did with us. Rest in peace, Jimbo. We love you.
