JUANITA OLA HESTER PETTY

Juanita Ola Hester Petty Age 82, died on October 29, 2010 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was born May 10, 1928 in Pavo, Georgia. A life-long supporter of literature and the arts and a talented painter herself, Juanita imbued in her children an appreciation and love of reading, poetry, and artistic expression. She was a cat lover and supporter of environmental protection. She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Willie" J. Hester and Mrs. W. J. (Allene) Hester, her sisters Jacquelyn H. Freeberg and M. Frances Hester, and her husband, Richard Alden Petty. She is survived by her sister Ernestine H. Armstrong of Lewes, Delaware, her children Molsie "Molly" Ann Petty of Staunton, Virginia and Hester Ruth Petty, of Greensboro, North Carolina, and her grandchildren Nathanael "Nate" Petty Grefe and Willa Petty Grefe. Juanita will be laid to rest in her hometown of Pavo in a private, family ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family asks Juanita's friends and relatives to visit someone in a nursing home or make a donation to their local hospice organization.
