Lillian Mona Coburn Lillian passed away peacefully on the morning of November 20th. A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, Lillian was born June 2, 1916, the second child of Jay and Dora Joseph. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, George, and by her brother Irving. Lilli attended James Monroe High School in New York City, where she met George. They were married from 1935 until 1992, when George passed away in San Rafael. They raised their only child, Richard, in Fairfax and San Rafael. Lilli and George were Marin county residents since 1954 and led a very active life. They traveled extensively in Latin America, Europe and Asia. They were avid tennis players at the Rafael Racket Club and the Marin Tennis Club. Lilli was active in the Marin Mannequin League in the 1950s and 1960s, which staged fashion shows and donated proceeds to charity. Lilli, later accompanied by George, was a ship-board fashion model for several cruise lines, including American President and Royal Viking. The "grand dame" of the family, her elegance, charm, wit and good humor were always the life of the party and will be sorely missed. Lilli is survived by Richard, her daughter-in-law Noreen, two grandchildren Philip and Kacey, and great granddaughter Faye. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Tamalpais Mortuary at 2:00pm, December 17th. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lilli's name to the arts charity of your choice.
