MARION GROVES Obituary

Marion D. Groves Born January 16th, 1917 in Chicago, Il. She came to Mill Valley in 1947 where she lived and raised her two son's Mike and Dave. She was a good homemaker and a great cook. She worked for a small business as a bookkeeper and helped out in other departments as needed. She was retained as an employee through three ownership changes. Marion spent her early retirement years living in Greenbrea and the last 17 years in Santa Rosa and Petlauma. She was a gentle person with good humor, and was admired by all who knew her. She passed on at home in her favorite chair August 29, 2010. She is survived by her youngest son. All of us who enjoyed her friendship feel our loss. Thanks for being my mom. I'll love you always.

I knew your Mom when I worked at Lawson Dyer Pharmacy in Mill Valley in the late 60's and 70's. I thought the world of her. She taught me integrity, hard work and happy devotion to doing your job. I remember when her son (Dave, I think) was injured and how hard that was for her. What a special lady. Have not seen her since then, but think of her from time to time. Stu Heard.
