ROBERT DOUGLASS Obituary

Robert Norman Douglass We were not born unto death, but into life. Rob Douglass was born June 23, 1957 at Eglin AFB Florida. He graduated from Novato High School in 1975 and continued on to study business at the University of Nevada, Reno. While in college he skied competitively for UNR and the Far West Ski Association and attended races throughout California and as far away as Switzerland. After receiving his degree Rob worked in Roseville California as a commercial real estate broker for Kuhl Corporation. He subsequently worked for Salem Communications where he was instrumental in purchasing land domestically and in Hawaii for Christian Radio tower construction. Living near the mountains was an invitation to be outside all the time. Rob loved snow and water skiing, sculling and taking long rides on his bicycle. He is survived by his three children, Rachel, Robbie and Jessie Douglass, parents Bob and Fran Douglass, sister Diane Douglass McCormack, and brother Scott Douglass. The family invites you to join in a celebration of his life by attending the worship services to be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 7th at Novato Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Novato.

My family will miss you you were always so gracious and giving. When its time to coach Brandon in baseball like we did for Scott and Robbie I know you will be there and when ever we vist Lake Celmentine we will always think of all the great times we had besides getting stuck with the queen.

Hey uncle. Its only been a week or two and I miss you like crazy. Your passion for skiing ignited that passion inside me. Im going to miss your random phone calls. Those were the times you would check up on me, but truthfully you called when I needed it most. Im also going to miss when you'd call me the night before my ski races and wish me luck. I still have the last gift you gave me; your UNR ski team patch. I know exactly where it is. Its in my left pocket of my ski pants and whenever im digging in my pocket for gum or something my fingers will grasp it and it brings back fond memories of skiing with you, or trying to get up on the wakeboard, or cliff jumping. My best memory of you is walking on the grassy hill behind grandma and grandpa's and having a heart to heart talk about life and such. Im going to miss you and ton and when I go up on the ski hill I'll take a run for you. I love you uncley uncle. Rest in peace.

I am so profoundly saddened by this news and the effect of this tragedy on the children Rob loved so much. He will be dearly missed by me and many, many others. I am only comforted by knowing that Rob will celebrate this Christmas in Heaven. Goodbye my friend. Jonathan

Rob was a special person, and I am so shocked and saddened to hear of his premature passing. I've known Rob both professionally and personally for nearly 20 years. He always had a positive outlook and had shared his strength through his deep faith with me on many occassions. He proudly spoke often of his family who he loved dearly, and had a great zest and love for life and most-recently his passion for winemaking. It's difficult to understand why one so young would leave us so early. Words cannot express how sorry I am for his family. My very deepest condolences to the Douglass family - you and Rob will be in my prayers.

I will always remember how sweet Rob tried so hard to teach me to water ski (to no avail). Such determination! I share your sadness at such a terrible loss. Sending love and prayers for God's grace and peace over your family.

"Rob was a special guy that had an unquenchable passion for the projects and many athletic activities he tackled. I remember sharing a room with him at Diamond B football camp when we were 10 and 11 years old. He challenged our friendship one day at camp when he selected a Neil Diamond song on the cafeteria juke box during lunch. The horror! I subsequently attended a Diamond concert years later. I vividly remember Rob as a fierce competitor from our football days. Pound for pound Rob was as tough as they come. Rest in peace my friend. I'll see you again.
