Ronald Keith Apple Jr.

Ronald Apple Obituary

Ronald Keith Apple Jr.
Died in San Francisco on January 10, 2004. Ron was born at Marin General Hospital on June 9, 1967. He was his Junior Class President at Novato High School and graduated in 1985. He attended U.S.F. and San Francisco State College. Ron became a member of the San Francisco Ironworker Local 377 in 1989 and worked throughout the Bay Area.
Ron loved music and was an accomplished guitar player; playing with Bay Area bands. He appeared in clubs from Portland to Los Angeles. He enthusiastically pursued his interest in literature and history and was extremely well read. The love he had for his pets and all other living things was returned to him. Ron was often described as "gentle and kind" by those who knew him and indeed he was.
Travel was another joy he experienced with his wife, Victoria, as they traveled throughout Europe extensively.
Ron is survived by his wife, Victoria, of San Francisco; his brother Michael and parents Ron and Natalie Apple of Novato.
A private funeral service will be held and a celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
You kissed the wind
I wonder why.
You kissed the wind
I stand and cry.
You kissed the wind
with a hard good-bye.
You kissed the wind
why did you die?

Not sure what to say?

I hadn't seen Ron in close to 20 years, but he was one hell of a guy and a big part of a good time in my life. It was a shock when my mom mentioned seeing his obituary. I'll still have the image of his scruffy face and sanggle-toothed smile in my head. I hope he is off to a place of good music and endless vintage guitars.

I'd love to catch up with some of you - especially Kim and Laura
