NANCY ADELLE JONES

Nancy Adelle Jones Passed away December 22, 2011 at UCSF Hospital after a long illness. She was eleven days short of her 60th birthday. She was a strong, intelligent, talented, and beautiful woman, who was taken from us too soon. Nancy was born January 2, 1952 in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Growing up in an Air Force family, Nancy lived in many different places. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from UCLA and continued her study of interior design at Woodbury University. Nancy became an insightful, confidant, and experienced design leader, and earned five prestigious Best of Year Awards from Interior Design Magazine. She worked with interior design and architecture firms in Los Angeles and San Francisco, finishing her career as a principal designer for Millican / Jones in Novato. Nancy also pursued studies of human consciousness with the Pathways Institute. She enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Duck Lake in Canada, where she was married and her ashes will be placed this summer. Nancy is survived by her husband, Tom Childers of Fairfax, her father, Col. Richard F. Jones, of Novato, her sister, Janet Jones, of Hartford, CT, her brother and sister-in-law, James and Kathy Jones of Santa Rosa, her nephew, Andrew Jones, of Santa Rosa, and her nieces, Nicole Nicholson of Vernon, CT, and Kristen Jones, of Santa Rosa. She is predeceased by her mother, Lois Jones. The family will have a private memorial service.
