Victorine "Vickie" Massagli Obituary
Victorine "Vickie" Massagli Born in Humboldt County, Daughter of Maria and Victor Evangelisti who established The Big Four Inn, famous for its excellent Italian cuisine, passed away at home in San Rafael. She was 95. In 1947, Vickie and husband, Alfred moved from San Francisco to Kentfield with their young son, Victor, and baby daughter, Maria. Vickie became involved in fund raising for The March of Dimes, Easter Seals, and she donated time to the PTA at AE Kent School, The "Gingham Ball" fundraiser for AE Kent School playing field, The Guide Dogs for the Blind, and was the secretary of Arequipa in Marin. Later she worked for the San Rafael City School District. In Retirement, she and Al travelled to Europe, Latin America, The South Seas and The Far East and especially enjoyed visiting relatives for a month every year in Italy. Known for her love of cooking and food, Vickie and Al hosted many gatherings of family and friends at their home in Marin. Vickie is survived by Al, her husband of 74 years; Daughter, Maria Massagli of Mill Valley; Son Victor Massagli of Sacramento; granddaughter, Carla of Sacramento; grandson, Nicholas, great grandson, Matteo and great granddaughter, Allie of San Ramon. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 3 Oakdale Avenue, Mill Valley.
