Bill E. Farmer Obituary
Bill E. Farmer A resident of Fairfax since 1948, died June 6, 2014. Farmer was born and raised in West Virginia. He had lived in California since being discharged from the Navy in 1945. He had been the owner of Bill's Appliances service since 1961. After retiring from his business he worked several years as a part time clerk/stocker for Safeway in San Anselmo. He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific while in the Navy during World War II, and was also a First Sergeant of the California National Guard based in San Rafael for 20 years. Farmer was a former leader of the Y.M.C.A. Boys Club in Fairfax. He had been a member and officer of the Fairfax Community Church for 30 years. At the time of his death he was an elder of the San Geronimo Community Presbyterian Church. He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Godwin of Carmichael and Cathryn Lucido of Fairfax; a son Robert Farmer (Lynn) of Rohnert Park; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the San Geronimo Community Presbyterian Church, Sunday, June 29th at Noon. Monte's Chapel of the Hills ~ San Anselmo
