Angelina Garbarino Obituary
Angelina Garbarino It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved mother Angelina Garbarino who died peacefully in her home on July 31, 2014 surrounded by the love of her family and loyal caretaker Sally by her side. Angie was born July 1, 1923 to parents of Emilia and Frederico Navone in San Francisco. Angie was raised in the Italian Community of North Beach where she met her husband Joseph Garbarino, Sr. Upon graduation from high school Angie worked in a women's clothing store called Ravazini's. Joe would often drive an hour out of his way after getting off work from his garbage route at 11:00AM just to see his girl. Joe and Angie became engaged, shortly thereafter Joe left for the war and upon his return Joe and Angie married May 12, 1946 at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. Angie and Joe soon started a family and were the proud parents of Dave, Ray and Allen. Angie was the strength and backbone of our family while her husband worked many long days after becoming a partner in Marin Sanitary Service. Angie most of all loved anything involving her sons, listening the family play music by "The G-Men", attending Thursday night bocce and endless family gatherings. Angie is predeceased by her husband Joe "Hon" and her sister Ann, she is survived by her three devoted sons Dave (Roseanne), Ray (Karen) and Allen (Jan), five grandchildren Rich (Lorena), Shannon (Garrett), David (Danielle), Kimberly (Peter) and Kaela (Scott), seven great grandchildren Sophia, Joe, Gavin, Hunter, Gianna, Nico and Adriana. In addition, the family would like to thank our dear family friend Sally Vakaola for her tireless support and care of Angelina. A private family service will be held. The family has requested donations to of your choosing or Hospice By the Bay. Arrangements entrusted to Keaton's Mortuary.
