Bruce Carl Rippon Of Chico CA, passed away Tuesday, May 25th, 2010, at the age of 56 as a result of complications from his life long struggle with diabetes. He was born in San Rafael August 19, 1953, to Frank C. and Helen G. Rippon, and raised in Novato. Bruce attended San Marin High School, graduating in 1971, before attending College of Marin, and CSU Sonoma, where he was awarded a BA degree in Art in 1976. Bruce's quick wit and humor was expressed through his drawings, sculptures and a comic strip he created. After graduation, Bruce moved from Petaluma, living in San Jose, Novato, Denver, and Walnut Creek, before settling in Chico in 2000 where he worked as a tile specialist for Lowes. His favorite place throughout was always Lake Tahoe where he hiked, kayaked, and spent many hours reading under the pine trees. Bruce is survived by his mother, Helen G. Rippon of Danville, brother, Steven (Patricia) Rippon of Danville, sister Susan (Philip) Millhollon of Danville, brother Barry Rippon of Rohnert Park, and sister Kerry (Michael) Rippon-Watson of Chico, as well as nieces Molly Millhollon, Caitlin and Alyssa Rippon, and nephews Ry and Jake Watson. Bruce was very fond of his nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. A service will be held in his honor, in Danville CA on Monday June 21st, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 3201 Camino Tassajara. Please join us in celebration of Bruce's life.
