TOM MAURER Obituary
Tom Maurer After the Giants won the World Series and the gigantic parade in San Francisco, Tom could leave this world on November 4th, 2010 with one huge dream completed! Tom leaves his parents, John and Mary Ellen Maurer and four siblings, Dan (Jackie) of Scotts Valley, Joe (Janet) of Santa Rosa, Ann (Peter) Bauer and Mary Maurer of San Rafael, his beloved Sondra Beam of Santa Rosa, a niece and six nephews and as a great uncle to three. Tom was born on February 19, 1956. He attended schools in the Dixie District until his parents moved to Saratoga, CA where he graduated from Lynbrook High School in 1974. He attended College of Marin and Western Washington State University in Bellingham. Tom worked in the South Lake Tahoe area for several years. The last 23 years he had his own Reliable Repair Service and was the caretaker at the Rogers' Ranch in Nicasio, which has been his sanctuary. Tom was an adventurous and free spirit; loving nature and being outdoors. His love of sports found him both spectator and participant. He had an eclectic love of music and was a film buff. Tom had a pure heart, was selfless, easily pleased, and loved life to the fullest. His family thanks the Oncology and Pulmonary Departments at Kaiser in Terra Linda for their exemplary care. Donations may be made in honor of Tom to Marin Agricultural Land Trust at www.malt.org or to the Giants Community Fund at www.jrgiants.org. A private celebration of Tom's life is pending.
