Josephine Landa Obituary
Josephine "Jerry" Landa In loving memory of our Mother and "Nana", who passed away peacefully in her home October 31st, surrounded by her family. She was born in Texas and raised in Louisiana, where she was known as one of the fastest cotton pickers. She came to San Francisco and worked on the naval ships as a welder. She also worked at Bimbo's 365 Night Club. She married Fred Landa and moved to San Rafael where they raised their two daughters. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and later became Deputy Grand Matron of the 40th District in 1973. She also was active in the community as a longtime volunteer at Sunny Hills Bargain Box. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Landa Davey and her husband Frank and Julie Landa Clayland and her husband Dean and grandson Austin. Also her brother Harold G. Carter and sister Gerri McKellep. A memorial will be held November 6th, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Memorial Park, 650 Bugeia Lane in Novato. Donations can be made to Hospice by the Bay.
