Richard E. Ambrose Sep. 20, 1935 - Oct. 31, 2012 Rick passed away on Wednesday October 31, 2012. Having resided in Fairfax, CA since 1981. A third generation Californian and San Francisco Native. He grew up in the Polk Gulch neighborhood and graduated Galieo. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, served as a cryptographer, Korean War. Honorably discharged, he entered the commercial insurance industry and Fast-tracked to hold managerial positions in commercial property underwriting and special risk and earthquake. His career spanned 43 years with Continental, Cravens Dargen, Aetna & Fireman's Fund. Rick, an Avid 49er fan, loved football and enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, reading, and long weekends in Mendocino and Tahoe at Harvey's. Rick leaves behind his wife, Sherry K. (Jones) whose love completed him with joy and laughter and whom he is so thankful to God. He loved his daughters, Stacey Ray (Rex) And Dayna Geary (Ed), adored his grandchildren (2 girls and 6 boys), as well, cousin Barbara Lynch. Friends and family knew Rick as: A good man; His Brother's Keeper; A man of sly dry wit.
