Frances Elizabeth Piazza Obituary
Frances Elizabeth Piazza December 26, 1914 - January 9, 2013 Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, Friend, Neighbor, Shopper, Walker, Volunteer, and BakerFrances was known by many names and is loved in so many ways. For years "Aunty Frances," as she was often called, spread not only love and good deeds, but a huge amount of cakes and cookies she baked and gave away lovingly. A native of San Francisco, Frances was one of 6 children born in the family home on Bernal Heights to Michael Cassetta and Antonia Pedone. Frances stopped school in 8th grade to begin working and help support her family. Her career spanned 50 years in the retail business working as a buyer for one company. Frances was preceded in death by her five siblings, her husband Anthony Joseph Piazza, and her son Michael Piazza. Frances is deeply missed by her daughter Toni Piazza and son-in-law Don Klink, her grandsons Nick (Betty) Lituanio, Louie Lituanio and Gino Piazza, and her three great-granddaughters, or her "Angels" as she called them, Gina, Alessandra and Daniella Lituanio. Frances will also be missed by scores of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. We would like to thank each of you that filled her daily life with love and attention including her caregivers at ATRIA Hillsdale, her primary physician Dr. Robert Young and the many who cared for her so compassionately. The family would also like to recognize Fanny Botto, Nora D'Acquisto, Monica Modolo and Betty Lituanio, for the care and love you showed Frances. Frances was a devout member of St. Gregory's Parish for over 40 years and was active in the Women's Guild, the annual Rummage Sale, Prayer Groups and doing whatever else was needed around the Church. Frances was also a dedicated volunteer at Samaritan House for many, many years. Today, as you read these words, please take a moment to celebrate Frances Piazza; her life, her strength, her struggles, her determination and ultimately, now that she is with 'her Lord,' her everlasting Faith. Frances loved flowers and always felt they were a symbol of love. However, if you would prefer to make a donation in her memory, please consider Support for Families of Children with Disabilities, 1663 Mission Street, 7th floor, SF, CA 94103. Friends may visit Monday, January 14, 2013 after 5:30 pm at St. Gregory Church, 2715 Hacienda St., at 28th Avenue, San Mateo where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 15th at 11:00 am at St. Gregory's. Interment Italian Cemetery, Colma. DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY 650-756-4500
