Lawrence John "Bud" Nordstrom

Obituary Condolences

Lawrence John Nordstrom (Bud) Born February 26, 1930 passed on January 10, 2013 Born in Keokuk Iowa to Harry and Ellen Nordstrom. He is survived by his son Soren Nordstrom, daughter -in-law Tanya and grandchildren Amanda and Mikel Nordstrom and also by his brother Harry Nordstrom of Minnesota and many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed playing basketball as a child and fishing with his father and brother. He served in Korea from 1951 to 1953, and then attended Iowa State University. He drove from Iowa to San Francisco in 1957 with is friend Calvin Kentfield. He settled in Sausalito in the 60's and 70's enjoying the local painters, writers and poets. Bud did some cartooning in the Stars and Stripes while in the Army and also sold several cartoons and cartoon ideas to Playboy magazine and the New Yorker. Bud worked at Heath Ceramics in Sausalito until the early 1980's then moved to the Russian River to work and be with friends. In the 90s he then moved to Fairfax to be close to his Son and then to Lagunitas where he liked to read and do the word jumble in the paper and talk politics with his Son. He will be greatly missed.
