Elsie D. Leach Elsie passed away on April 24, 2013 at the age of 88. Elsie was born on July 8, 1924 in Tacoma, WA to Fred Ungefug & Elizabeth (Betty) Winterholler. Elsie was married to Albert L. Leach on June 6, 1946 in Lovell, Wyoming. Al was a WWII Veteran and Bataan Death March survivor, Elsie and Al continued their journey together in the USAF until Al retired at Hamilton AFB in 1959. They were the "Greatest Generation" raising their sons in Novato and managing the Indian Valley Golf Course from 1959-1974. Elsie's strong German ancestry made her a very independent woman and was the Matriarch of the Leach Family. Elsie enjoyed playing golf, travelling, spending time with her family and always enjoyed an opportunity to sing and dance. She was a member and an usher at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Al and parents Fred and Betty. She is survived by her sons, Ray (Patti) of San Rafael, Terry (Diana) of Novato, Mike (Jill) of Pebble Beach, grandchildren Chenoa, Olivia, Joe, Terry, Danielle, Amy, Michael, April and Jason; and (12) great grandchildren. Services will be alongside her husband Al at the Presidio of SF National Cemetery on Friday May 31 at 11:00 AM.
