Obituary Condolences

Patrick Joseph McGee June 6, 1924 - June 27, 2013 Pat was born in San Francisco to Irish immigrants Margaret and Patrick Henry McGee. After serving in WWII he met and married Barbara (Ruggles). They spent a wonderful 61 years together raising their family. Patrick's carpentry skills provided for their sizable family. Pat was predeceased by his sister Lucille and is survived by sisters, Kathleen Barrett (Sam) and Rita McGee. He leaves his beloved wife and 11 children: Stephen (Nancy), Karen (Tony), Michael (Barbara), Teri (Anthony), Bernadette (Greg), Patti-Jo (Dan), Peter, Joe (Maria), Carolyn (John), Christine (Eric) and Sheila (John). His more than 31 grandchildren and more than 11 great-grandchildren also mourn his passing. Patrick led his life simply with faith and great dignity. Pat, Dad, Pops - you will be remembered and missed - until we meet again. The family wishes to thank Dad's caregivers, Lucia Laughton and Pierre Blaine for the many days of loving service they provided. The volunteers and staff from both Hospice and Threshold Singers are also gratefully thanked. Services will be at St. Rita's Church in Fairfax: A Rosary will be said Friday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m. Saturday morning funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. with a reception in the St. Rita Hall to follow. A private interment will follow at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice by the Bay or a would be appreciated.
