Brian Robert Crane Obituary
Brian Robert Crane It is with heartfelt love and profound sadness that we say goodbye to our very dear friend, uncle, brother, cousin, colleague, cherished Dad and beloved husband, Brian Robert Crane. Brian passed suddenly, yet peacefully at home on Monday, August 26th. A lifetime Marin County resident, Brian was born and raised by Yvonne and Roger Crane in San Anselmo, and graduated from Drake High School in 1971. With his four sisters and one brother, the Crane's cut a wide swath through the years, making many friends and always sharing a laugh and a story. Brian's work as a construction estimator for Kaiser was cause for much professional pride, helping to ensure our regional hospitals were state-of-the-art facilities. In his spare time, Brian was an avid fisherman and found great pleasure in the beauty of the hills and lakes of the Mt. Tam watershed where he spent joyful times with his family and friends. He is survived by his adored children, Hilary Crane Arriaga and Tyler Crane, whom he spent his very last days with on a special trip to Golden Gate Fields with his daughter and her husband Henry, and to see his beloved 49er's play one last time at Candlestick with his son. His stepdaughters, Claire Pokas and Jennifer Pokas were also cherished by Brian. His warmth and gift for making everyone feel like a member of the family will be sorely missed. Brian and his dearly-loved bride, Katherine Flynn Pokas Crane, were together for over 18 years and were joined in matrimony on 11/11/11. Together with their four children, they lived a fun, joyful, tolerant, supportive and loving life together; a blessing they gave thanks for often. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Tracy (Archie) Williams, Lori (George) Melchior, Janet (Pete) Hagen, Stephen Crane, Audrey (Andy) Ball and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service in Brian's honor will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 31st at Monte's Chapel of Hills in San Anselmo.
