Theodore Charles Rodden Aug. 18, 1953/Aug. 20, 2014 Theodore Rodden, (aka Theo or Ted), age 61, was senselessly killed in the backyard of his Mill Valley home on August 20, 2014. It was a random act of violence and totally unsolicited. The eldest of five siblings, Theo lived on the East Coast through his twenties, then moved to California. After a moment of clarity, he met his wife Kaye and they began a life of 25 years together in Mill Valley. Theo's life was dedicated to his passions; music, his family, gardening, birding, hiking the hills of Marin and a yearning for spiritual fulfillment. Beloved by colleagues and the bands that played at Rancho Nicasio, a restaurant and music venue in rural Marin, he was their sound technician and production manager for 16 years. Theo was an accomplished musician, largely self-taught. He played acoustic guitar and mandolin in Sweet Leaf, a duo with Kaye featuring their original music. He also played other instruments including bass guitar, violin and harmonica. Theo is survived by his wife Kaye; daughter Jessica Anderson and son James; son-in-law Glen Anderson; grandchildren Benjamin and Kai; parents Raymond and Helen; sisters Karen Baker and Pam Acuna; and brothers Ray and Stephen. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 24th at 7:30 PM at the Tam Valley Community Center, 203 Marin Avenue, Mill Valley.
