Reg Weller Obituary

Reg Weller Reg passed away peacefully on September 2nd, 2014, age 84. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 39 years, son Scott, daughter Page, son-in-law Beau, and two grandchildren ages 2 and 4. Reg was born in RI, 1929, to Margaret and Horace Weller. He attended Moses Brown School ('45), Phillips Exeter Academy ('47), and Yale University ('51). In 1952, Reg joined the Army Security Agency, studying Russian at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey before deploying to Japan as a Russian Language Specialist during the Korean War. Years later Reg returned to California, where he had fallen in love with Carmel and San Francisco. In 1975 Reg and Marilyn married and made their home in Belvedere. Following his real estate career at Coldwell Banker, Reg raised venture funding and launched National Safe Depository, a vital records storage firm whose clients included Apple and HP. Reg's greatest legacy is surely his unfailing devotion as a husband and father, never to miss a soccer game with camera in hand and repertoire of one-line jokes. Also an avid tennis player with two forehands, a keen explorer of west Marin's hiking trails, and an intrepid traveler logging trips from Mexico to France, Reg lived a long life rich in adventure, friendship, and love. A memorial is planned for October 3rd, please contact family members for details.
