Krausz, Karen Sue Gorenflo  
Karen Sue Gorenflo Krausz MARION: Karen Sue Gorenflo Krausz, age 73, of Marion, Ohio, died at 10:55 P.M. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at her residence. She was born December 26, 1941 in Marion to Nellie Sisson Gorenflo and Wilfred Gorenflo. She was married December 28, 1984 to Richard C. Krausz who survives; also surviving her, daughter, Pamela (Shawn) Anthony of Marion; step-children, Cathy Clemons of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Tim Krausz of Tennesse; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three brothers, Dan (Barb) Gorenflo of WV, Richard (Donna) Gorenflo of Nevada, Tim Gorenflo of Marion; mother, Nellie Gorenflo and sister, Kathy Gorenflo both of Marion, Ohio. She retired from Whirpool after twenty-three years of service. She was a member of American Legion Post #162, VFW 7201, and past member of Moose 889. She loved her friends and loved to cook. But, most of all she loved her family. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Samuel and Ron Hartley. Funeral Services will be held at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. Officiating the service will be Shawn Anthony. Burial will follow in the Chapel Heights Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 4 to 7 P.M. Sandra Sue Cochran MacKenzie MARION: Sandra Sue Cochran MacKenzie, age 68 of Marion passed away June 23rd at home. She was born on September 8th, 1946 as the daughter of the late Wayne and Edna M. (Redmon) Cochran. She married Brad Mackenzie August 26, 1978 and he survives her at home. Sandra enjoyed gardening, collecting thimbles and bells from all over the world. She was a member of the Gold Wing Club and Odd Fellows Lodge No. 299 of Caledonia. She was a graduate of the State Beauty Academy in Marion and River Valley High School. Sandra worked along side Brad in his Lock Shop for many years. Sandra was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Young. Sandra was a wonderful, caring mom that was always there no matter what and she took care of everyone, family, friends, even virtual strangers. She put everyone else's needs before her own. Sandra is survived by her children, Shellie (Mark) Montgomery of Marion, Ohio and Greg Goss of Grove City; she leaves behind her grandchildren, Johnathan (Kelsey), Josh, Jake, and Joe Montgomery; sister Janet (Jeffery) Tremain of Marion, Ohio; and brother, Paul Cochran of Edison, Ohio; as well as four nieces, two nephews, six great nieces and six great nephews. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday June 27th from 2 to 4 pm with funeral services will be conducted by the Odd Fellows Lodge #299 immediately following calling hours at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia. Meredith, Alan D.  
Alan D. Meredith DELAWARE: Alan D. Meredith, 29, of Delaware, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the James Cancer Hospital after a courageous 10 month battle with sarcoma. He was a graduate of Olentangy High School class of 2004, where he was nvolved with band and thespian groups. He went on to receive an Associate Degree from Columbus State. He was a former employee of the CVS in Powell and most recently was employed by The Home Depot in Marysville. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald L. Meredith and Ralph Holloway. Alan is survived by his parents, David and Peggy Meredith; sister, Katie (Michael) Freeland; nephew, Wesley Freeland; grandmothers, Juanita Meredith and Patricia Holloway; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 25, 2015 at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street(Powell Rd./St. Rt. 750/1/4 mile east of Sawmill Pkwy.) Mitchell, Dan Howden  
Dan Howden Mitchell PROSPECT: Dan Howden Mitchell, 80 of Prospect, died unexpectedly Wednesday June 17, 2015 at his home. He was born January 26, 1935 in Mt. Gilead to the late Donald and Dorothy (McKee) Mitchell. On August 26, 1956 he married his high school sweetheart, the former Mildred Fern Downs and she died April 12, 2014. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dean Mitchell. He was a very accomplished basketball player at Johnsville High School, where he graduated in 1953; he then graduated from the Ohio Wesleyan University in 1957. Dan was a talented piano player, trumpet player and was proficient with many other instruments. He was a member of musical groups such as the All Americans, Front Porch Five and others. Dan was a music teacher for many years, teaching at the Elgin Schools, first in Green Camp then Prospect, then moving to the Pleasant Schools and finally finishing in the Centerburg District. He had earned a Masters in Music Education. Dan loved to take his grandchildren fishing. A True Renaissance man, he was equally happy in his garden or workshop, studying astronomy, teaching his students, reading scientific, literary, historical and fiction books and traveling the country. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Heidi (Mike) Ries, Centerville (Dayton); his son, Dan (Terri) Mitchell, Columbus; two grandchildren, Timothy Joseph Ries and Rosamiel Rene Ries; sister, Sandra (William) Houk, Mt. Gilead; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is beloved by his family, friends and students for his kindness, patience and wisdom. Mullins, Quentin  
Quentin Mullins, Jr. MARION: Quentin Mullins, Jr. age 66 of Marion, passed away on Sunday morning June 21, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Quentin was born on March 31, 1949 in Knott County, Kentucky, the son of Quentin and Alice (Thorsberry) Mullins, Sr. He grew up in Puncheon Creek and graduated from the Knott County High School. He is retired from Whirlpool working as a press operator for over 46 years. On May 21, 2010, Quentin was united in marriage to Kim S. Rinbolt in Marion. Quentin was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying UK basketball. He also liked bowling and was a fan of all the Cleveland teams. He was a longtime member of the Marion Moose Lodge and was a dedicated member of the Marion Area Harley Rider's Association. Quentin is now set out to journey to another adventure out on the open road… He is survived by his wife Kim Mullins; his children: Natalie (Jamie) Powers, Quentin "Keith" Mullins, Elijah Mullins, Kelli Rudd and Toni Rudd; grandchildren: Quentin Mullins, Baeleigh Quinn and Jett Harbour; Siblings: Roger Mullins, Euretta Hourd, Kathy Mullins, Pam (Steve) Hudson and Betty Burns and his beloved cat, Stormin Norman. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 25, 2015 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM. Perry, Karen Jean  
Karen Jean Perry MARION: Karen Jean (Barrick) Perry, 73, of Marion, OH, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Presidential Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Karen was born on July 3, 1941, in Newark, OH, to the late Russel and Marjorie Barrick. She was preceded in death by her sisters Linda and Sandra. She was a 1959 graduate of Marion Harding and married her high school sweetheart, Melvin Perry, on November 15, 1959 in Marion, OH. Karen was devoted to her family and friends, always loved singing, and enjoyed working in her garden. She was passionate about supporting veterans and all current military personnel and served as secretary and chaplain of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #162 in Marion. Karen worked at King's Department Store and Fulfillment Corporation of America as a payroll accountant before retiring in 2000. She is survived by her husband Melvin; children Douglas Perry of Marion, OH, Elaine (Mark) Botz of Katy, TX and Brian (Lisa) Perry of Concord, NC. Grandchildren: Douglas II (Amanda), Elizabeth (Eric), Hollie, Christopher (Britt), Jason, Justin, Marissa, Jake and Dylan and great-grandsons Carter and Ethan. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion. Pastor Dwight Hord will preside. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. Prouty, Robert  
Robert L. Prouty MARION: Robert L. Prouty, at the age age 78, passed away at his home in Marion. Robert was born in Delaware, Ohio on April 14, 1937, the son of Lyle F. and Emily I.A. (Swearengin) Prouty. He worked as a machinist at Marion Power Shovel for over 40 years before his retirement. He is survived by his children: Kathleen Prouty and Kimberly (Mike) Vance. Three grandchildren: Kayla Potts, Michael Potts and Kristin M. (Sanborn) Vance-Holmes also survive Robert. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ashley D. Vance; and his brother, Lyle Eugene Prouty. Erma "Jane" Ellinwood Wheeler Ratterman MARION: Erma "Jane" Ellinwood Wheeler Ratterman, 86, of Marion, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, June 27, 2015 at the Arbors at Delaware. She was born March 15, 1929 in Marion to the late Truman George and Helen (Douglass) Reed Ellinwood, she was also predeceased by two husbands: Dennie H. Wheeler and Andrew Ratterman; siblings: David Reed, Marie Reed Kingsley, Frank Reed, Charlotte Reed Wilson and Ronald Ellinwood. Surviving are her children: Ernest (Louise) Wheeler of Pigeon Forge, TN and Karen (Fred) Kellogg of Caledonia; six grandchildren, several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; siblings: Truman (Barb) Ellinwood, Rebecca (David) Doss and Kenneth (Ethel) Ellinwood all of Marion; many nieces, nephews and cousins; long time companion and friend, Robert Cline Sr. of Marion. She had worked at two bowling alleys over the years, Richwood Lanes and Plaza Lanes; she then retired from Meijer in Marion, where she worked for many years. Jane was a very talented bowler; she was involved in many leagues and received numerous awards, such as bowling in Smittys All Star League, member of the Professional Women's Bowling Assn. Union County Bowling Assn. and the Marion County Bowling Hall of Fame. She had once won a car on T.V. All Star Bowling. Jane also enjoyed golfing at the Green Acres Golf Course, former member of the Richwood VFW Aux., member of the Marion Moose #448, Marion Area Genealogy Soc. and the Marion County Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Ave. Church of Christ. There will be no services at this time; burial will be in the Claibourne Cemetery. A memorial service will take place in the near future. The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood is helping the family with arrangements.
