Carol (Teitelbaum) Brown

Carol Brown (nee Teitelbaum)

SHAKER HEIGHTS: Carol Brown (nee Teitelbaum), beloved wife of the late Edward R.; devoted mother of Julie Brown (Bryan) Rubenstein and Marcy (Dennis Haley); loving grandmother of Hannah, Emma and Jonah Rubenstein; dear sister of the late James Teitelbaum; daughter of the late Evelyn (nee Giberman) and Lou Teitelbaum (founder of Universal Motor Parts) died January 4 at age 79. She had two very special furred ones as family, her grand dog Breezy and her cat, Duchess.

Living up to her nickname of "Sarah Allgood" Carol greeted everyone with a smile. She never let lifelong health problems slow her down and had far too much fun for someone who was supposed to be delicate. From entertaining with her husband, Ed, to climbing a Mayan temple in Tikal, to volunteer work and delighting in her triplet grandchildren, Carol brought enthusiasm and appreciation to all she did. With a master's in education and more than 50 years of a successful marriage, Carol viewed every day as full of potential and every person as a potential friend.

She and her husband were also the very first couple to be married at Temple Israel.
