GALION: Charles Patton, age 75, of Galion, Ohio, died on Friday, December 28, 2012 in the Emergency Room at Galion Community Hospital.
He was born January 21, 1937 in Knott County, Kentucky to Frank and Lula (Mullins) Patten, both of whom are deceased. He married Kathleen Murrell and she survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Nathan Patton of Marion, Jerry Lee Patton and James Elmer Patton both of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Billy Patton of Killbuck, Ohio and Rick (Beth) Hall of Iberia, Ohio; 5 daughters, Freda Patton, Lovenda Blanton, Sarah Patton, Betty Patton all of Killbuck and Bobby Jo Patton of Marion; 42 grandchildren; and 66 great grandchildren; along with 2 brothers, Judge (Sylvia) Patton of Quicksand, Kentucky and Paul (Juanita) Patton of Knott County, Kentucky; and 3 sisters, Ellen (Earl) Murrell of Morral, Tina Ellis Combs of Marion, and Liz Patton of Grove City, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a son Charles and a daughter Mary Elizabeth and 2 brothers, Jack and Bob Patton.
Charles was retired having at one time worked for Marion Dresser.
He was a member of the Miracle Meetings Church in Galion and for hobbies he enjoyed being outside, whether fishing, hunting or just sitting on his porch at home.
Funeral services for Charles Patton will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Gebhardt Enterprise Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio with the Rev. Ed Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, January 2, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Gebhardt Enterprise Baptist Church.
