Herb Corbin

MARION: Herb Corbin, age 57, son of Alka and Elmer Corbin, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 2:27 p.m.

Herb was born November 29, 1955 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He married the love of his life, Doris Bailey, September 24, 1973 and they were happily married for 40 years. They had three beautiful children together, Tammy Corbin-Blankley, Herb "Seven" Corbin II, and Julie Corbin (Kenny Kirk). Herb enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren, Bailey Corbin, Santana Galvan, Tyler, Dylan, & Caleb Kirk.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, children, grandchildren, nieces, & nephews. Herb is also survived by three brothers, Ed (Wanda) Corbin, Floyd Corbin Sr., & Robert L. Corbin; and six sisters, Nora (Chuck) Daniel, Pauline Fridley, Melinda Biederman, Lora Corbin, Wanda Corbin, & Mae McCormack.

Herb worked at Marion Steel/ Nucor for 28 years until becoming terminally ill. Besides his wife and kids being the love of his life, he enjoyed demolition derbys, playing pool & softball, and riding his Harley Davidson. In 2001, Herb won the Marion County Demo Derby. He was also one of the original members of the Marion Area Harley Riders Association.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Corbin; a granddaughter, Briana; a brother, Jerry Corbin; two sister-in-laws, Deborah Corbin & Kathy Corbin; a mother-in-law, Doris Bailey; one niece and one nephew.

The family request, if you would like, to please wear Harley Dividson clothing or Herb Corbin Poker Run shirts to calling hours which will be held in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
