James E. Ferriman

MARION: James E. Ferriman, age 86, of Marion, passed away on Saturday morning, January 11, 2014 in Columbus at the Kobacker House.

Jim was born on August 20, 1927 in Marion, the son of Charles and Bertha (Obenour) Ferriman. Jim graduated from Pleasant High School in the class of 1945. After school, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked at the Columbia Gas Company for 39 years, retiring in 1989.

On December 4, 1947, Jim was united in marriage to Eileen Elizabeth Seitter in Kentucky, together they have shared 66 years of marriage.

Jim will be dearly missed by his devoted wife Eileen; his children, Janet (Jim) Haycox, Richard (Ruie) Ferriman, Betty (Alfred) Beringer and Connie (Peter) Briski; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son James; one grandchild; five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Graveside services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ohio Health Foundation to benefit the Kobacker House, 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, 43215.
