Melvin E. Bollinger
MARION: Melvin E. Bollinger, age 90, of Marion passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013, at 12:32 a.m. in the Heartland of Bucyrus Nursing Facility.
He was born on July 2, 1923 in Marion, Ohio to James and Rosetta (Wood) Bollinger.
Melvin Served in the U.S.Army during WWII
, was a member of the Galion AmVets, and attended the Morral United Methodist Church. He was employed as a truck driver for over 20 years with Commercial Motor Freight before his retirement.
The lifelong Marion resident is survived by four sons, Steve (Jackie) Bollinger of Marion, OH., Melvin (Denise) Bollinger Jr. of Georgetown, OH., Kel (Karen Fletcher) Bollinger of Prospect, OH., & Tracy (Nettie) Bollinger of Upper Sandusky, OH.; two daughters, Brenda Bollinger of Prospect, OH. and Jean (Orty) Miller of Bloomingdale, OH.; two brothers, Vern (Georgia) Bollinger and Dean (Ann) Bollinger both of Marion, OH.; two sisters, Donna Kraner Of Marion, OH. and Pat Liebengood of Galion, OH.; 21 grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
Melvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna (Seel) Bollinger; two sons, Robert and Bill Bollinger; one daughter, Mary Ann Bollinger; two brothers, Jim and Dick Bollinger; and one sister, Evelyn Seabrook.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Rev. Eugene Parker will be officiating. Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of Bucyrus.
