George A. Fragale

BUTLER, PA: George A. Fragale, age 83, of Butler, PA passed away Christmas Eve at the Butler V.A. Medical Center, Butler, PA, surrounded by his family.

Born in Butler on November 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Dominic and Sylvia Grigoletti Fragale.

He was employed at Pullman Standard as a crane hook-up for 20 years until the plant closed. He formerly owned the Viaduct Inn on Center Avenue, and he was also formerly employed at Allen's Produce.

He was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1946.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Codispot Fragale, to whom he was married for 56 years; two sons, The Honorable Robert D. Fragale and his wife, Peggy, of Prospect, Ohio and William J. Fragale and his wife, Nicki, of Butler, PA; one daughter, Sharon Rose Fragale, of Gainesville, Georgia; four grandchildren, Erin M. Margraf and her husband, Nick, of Waldo, Ohio, Matthew D. Fragale, of Columbus, Ohio, Robert A. Fragale, of Columbus, Ohio, Mary A. Fragale, of Prospect, Ohio; two step-grandchildren, U.S. Navy Seaman Michael Curran, of Butler, PA and Holly Beggs and her husband, Adam, of Butler, PA.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Avenue, Butler, PA on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at noon at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Butler.

Burial will take place in Saint Michael's Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations to Marion Catholic High School, 1001 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, Ohio, or to the V.A. Hospice at the Butler V.A. Medical Center in Butler, PA.
