Avery Wicker
MARION: Avery Wicker, age 70, of Marion passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 6:15 a.m. at his residence.
He was born in Trammell, Virginia on July 28, 1942 to Woodrow W. and Mary (Taylor) Wicker. On November 4, 2000 in Bowling Green, Ky. he married Judy Carol Hall and she survives. During his working years, Avery worked for oil drilling companys among other assorted jobs before his retirement.
He is survived by two sons, Mark A. (Jessica) Wicker of Mt. Gilead, Oh. and Daniel D. Wicker of London, Oh.; a daughter, Sheila DelMarie Wicker of Marion; a brother, Arnold Wicker of Marion; ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son, Avery Wicker Jr.; a brother, Davery Wicker; and a sister, Loretta Randles.
Friends may call at the Full Gospel Christian Church, 236 Ballentine Ave., Marion, from 12:00 noon today, Friday, August 3, 2012, until service time at the church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Clayton Young will officiate. Burial will follow in the William Henry Clay/Johnson Family Cemetery in Virgie, Ky. on Monday.
