Betty Ruth Robison

MARION: Betty Ruth Robison, age 86, of Marion passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012, at 8:25 p.m. in the Marion General Hospital. She was born in Huntington, Indiana on November 23, 1925 to Guy Eugene and Hazel (Cecil) Myers. On March 27, 1943 she married George Harold Robison in Huntington, Ind. and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1988 in Marion, Ohio.

Betty was a longtime member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Marion, the Norene Circle of the church, and for 25 years taught Sunday School to toddlers, where she received the Harry B. Woodall Memorial Award for her efforts. She possessed a very green thumb and could make anything grow, loved reading in her spare time, was an exceptional cook, and adored her cats. Surviving are a son; Terry D. Robinson of Houston, Tx.; two daughters; Trudy (Rick) Fletcher of Marion, Oh. and Tasha (Lonnie) Lane of Delaware, Oh.; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death along with her parents and husband by a son; Steven B. Robison; two brothers; Cecil and Gene Myers; and two sisters; Ruby Sagers and Esther Trout.

A funeral service honoring Betty will be held in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Rev. Rick Farmer will be officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
