Edgar Wray Wine

MARION: Edgar Wray Wine was called home by the Good Lord on May 27, 2012. He passed away in his own bed at home peacefully.

Ed was born in Delaware, Ohio on April 15, 1925, where he grew up on the family farm. He was graduated from Delaware Willis High School. He then entered the United States Navy and served during WWII in the Pacific. After serving his country, he entered the CCC and helped to build the Delaware Dam. He then went on to work at the Quaker Oats Company in Marion and retired after a 42 year career.

Ed loved the outdoors: Fishing, golfing, gardening, hunting sea shells and most of all he loved his wife, family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Fannie (Church) Wine; two sons: Dennis and Ron and their wives, Treva and Melissa; three grandchildren: Troy, Scott and Erica.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Roxy Mae Wine; and all of his brothers and sisters: Vincent, Vance, Hansford, Lucille, Dale, Nona and Harold.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center Street, Marion from 4PM to 6PM; Funeral Services will be held at the Epworth United Methodist Church, 249 East Center Street, Marion on Friday at 10:30AM with Rev. Colleen Ogle officiating. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Epworth United Methodist Church.
