Herbert H. Gilbert

MT. GILEAD: Herbert H. Gilbert, 83, left this world for his heavenly home on 8/20/12, at his home in Raymondville, TX, following an extended illness. Herbert was born on 2/27/29 in Swordscreek, VA, to Paul and Maxie (Ray) Gilbert.

He is survived by the sunshine of his life, Kathleen (Robinson), who he married 4/8/49 in Pikeville, KY; He is also survived by one daughter, Sandra (Joseph) Hickman of Caledonia, OH; and two sons, Herb Gilbert and Anthony Wayne Gilbert of Lyford, TX; He will also sadly be missed by Todd Harris and Donald Watterman, who he loved as special sons.

He leaves seven grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Scott, Katie, Jeremy, Timothy, Bert, and Anthony; Also, numerous great-grandchildren, including Canyon, Noah, Gage, Harley Lynn, and Michael.

Herbert was a veteran that served in WWII and The Korean Conflict. He was a Plumber-Pipe Fitter by trade, a 57-year member of Local 42 in Norwalk, OH, and a 46-year member of Oliver Lodge #447 F&AM in Caledonia, OH. In 1979, He received his 32nd Degree in Valley of Columbus Scottish RITE. On 8/21/12, Masonic services were given by RWB Joseph W. Hickman, 33rd Degree, his favorite (and only) son-in-law.
