SANDUSKY: Jerry Dale Butz, age 63, died at The Ohio Veteran's Home at 8:23 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013.

He was born May 15, 1950 to the late R. Clair Butz and his mother W. Alleta Lindsay Butz. She is still living in Mt. Victory, Ohio.

He married Wendy Jones in 1973 and she survives along with their daughters, Andrea Bostelman, Fountain, CO., (children, Matthew and Amelia) and Jill (Chad) Lydestrom (daughter, Emery Claire), Mammoth Lakes, CA.; brother, Larry (Dawn) Butz; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother, David and his sister, Carol Savage.

Mr. Butz was of the Baptist Faith. He was a farmer when he was younger. He retired from Honda of America and he truly enjoyed his job and the friends he made there.

He proudly served in the United States Army 1970-1973 during the Vietnam War. He earned the rank of paratroopers and loved telling those stories of his eleven jumps to anyone that was willing to learn the true history of the Vietnam ERA. Jerry was a member of the VFW #7201.

Friends may visit with the family at 10:30 a.m at the LaRue Baptist Church on Saturday July, 27, 2013. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m with burial of the remains at The LaRue Cemetary.

The family would like to extend a Thank You to Stein Hospice of Erie County, Ohio Veterans Home and Toft's Funeral Home, family and friends that gave of their time and actually visited Jerry.

Thank you for all the prayers during this long battle. You will recieve your reward someday. God Bless to All.
