MARION: Lincoln J. Spencer, age 89, of Marion, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 3, 2012.
Lincoln was born on July 11, 1923, in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Harry Lincoln and Adora (Winquist) Spencer.
He married Elisabeth Lyon on September 2, 1944. She died on March 9, 1984. He married Erma Ellcessor on August 23, 1986, and she survives.
He attended St. John's Military Academy in Delafield, WI, the University of Cincinnati and Notre Dame. He was a registered professional engineer in the state of Illinois.
A member of Theta Chi Fraternity Beta Omicron Chapter, 62 year member of Chicago Lodge #437 AF&AM, 61 year member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Chicago 32 degree Mason, Aladdin Shrine Columbus, Past President of Marion Shrine Club. Marion Chapter 62 Royal Arch Masons, Medina Commandry 84 Knights Templar. A deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Marion. Former Marion City Councilman. Was active in "Y" Indian Guides and Junior Achievement.
He joined Tecumseh Products Co. in 1952 and was the Purchasing Agent retiring in 1984. He then joined Gilco Inc., Detroit, MI, as Sales Manager retiring in 1990.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trap shooter, sailor and golfer.
He is survived by his wife Erma; a son Thomas Lincoln (Mary) Spencer of Canal Fulton; three daughters Adora (John) Riggs of Delaware, Elisabeth Spencer and Laura Spencer of New Albany; two step-daughters Kimberly Ellcessor of Leigh Acres, Fl, and Sheryl Johnson of Marion; five grandchildren Jacquelyn Moore Noonan of Hamilton, Kristen Spencer of Talmadge, Scott Spencer of Talmadge, John Spencer Riggs of Delaware, Madison Johnson of Marion; two great-grandchildren Thomas Noonan and Chelsa Noonan of Hamilton; and one great-great-grandson, Kameron Noonan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lely Presbyterian Church, 105 Saint Andrews Blvd., Naples, FL 34113.
