MT. GILEAD: Davis age 74, of North Cherry Street, Mount Gilead, Ohio died Monday July 23, 2012, six days short of her 75th birthday in Riverside Methodist Hospital following a brief illness. She was born July 29, 1937 Westfield Twp. Morrow Co. Ohio to Earl Lamoine and Ester Christina (Smith) Calbert.

On October 10, 1954 in Morrow County, she married Richard F. Davis, Sr. and he preceeded her in death on Nov. 28, 2000.

Survivors include Marguerite's two daughters, Brenda Sue and James Helman of Cardington and Robin Lynn and Terrence Malone of Marion; six grandchildren, Jason Helman, Jarod Helman, Misty Malone, Shawna Malone, Rachel Malone, and Vanessa Malone; five great grandchildren, Bridget Ash, Skylar Helman, Aaron Malone, Gabriel Malone and Robert Howard; brothers, Earl L. Calbert, Jr of Houston, Texas, Dwight E. and Lydia Calbert of Virginia Beach, VA, and Robert D. and Sandra Calbert of Canal Winchester, OH.

In addition to her parents, Marguerite was preceeded in death by her son, Richard F. Davis, Jr; grandsons, Rusty, Dusty, and Carl Helman, brothers; Gary Calbert, and John Calbert, sisters; Barbara Conner and Marilyn Lansdown.

Marguerite was a member of the Morrow Co. Historical Society, the Morrow Co. Genealogical Society, the First Families of Morrow Co. and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She took much pride and pleasure researching for her family and others. She has done extensive research and has held many offices over the years for these organizations, including being the recording secretary of the Historical Society for 29 years. Marguerite was instrumental in producing the 1985 Morrow Co. History Book.

Marguerite loved to travel and loved visiting historical and National Landmarks. Her family and friends have many happy memories of these trips. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers. Marguerite will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. The burial will follow in the Glendale Cemetery.
