Martha M. Redmond Grate
ERIE, PA: Martha M. Redmond Grate, age 82, of Erie, passed away quietly on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born November 8, 1929 in Marion, OH, the daughter of the late Alva and Madge George Redmond.
Martha was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and ceramics. "She cannot return to me but I will go to her."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Samuel E. Grate.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Grate; three sons Michael Grate and his wife, Hae Ok, of St. Louis, Missouri, Nathanael Grate and his wife, Yvonne, of Fairview, PA, and Benjamin Grate and his wife, Holly of Lake City, PA; three brothers, William Redmond and his wife, Helen, David Redmond and his wife, Nancy, all of Marion, OH, and Rockford Redmond of Prospect, OH.; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Avenue), on Tuesday from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm and are invited to attend the service there Wednesday at 11:00 am with The Reverend Isaac Clark officiating. Burial will be private.
