MANSFIELD: Maxine Frances Frontz, born December 2, 1933 in Marion, Ohio to the late Clarence and Zelma (Gay) Cranmer was called back home on Saturday, September 22, 2012. She was a graduate of Marion Harding High School. Maxine worked at the Cardington Lincoln Elementary School as a secretary for 7 years, until leaving in 1974-75. She then took a position at Johnsville Elementary School for another 7 years until her retirement.

On November 3, 1973, Maxine married Virgil "Gene" E. Frontz and together, they enjoyed camping and traveling.

Always one to be busy and active, Maxine also worked at Sam's Club as a sample demonstrator. She was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary at V.F.W. Post #9943, holding several different positions over the years. She enjoyed catching up with her classmates and workmates at monthly luncheon gatherings.

In addition to her husband of 38 years, she is survived by one brother, Kenny (Betty) Cranmer of Marion; a brother-in-law, Francis Diebert of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Jeannine Smith of Mansfield and Aletha Ward of MI; two sons and one daughter, Terry (Kathy) Brown, David (Michelle) Brown, and Carol (Ron) Carsner, all of Cardington; two stepsons, John and Donald (Donna) Frontz of Mansfield; five granddaughters, Savannah Townsend, Lacey (Dan) Cortez, Lyndsy, Challen and Taylor Brown; two grandsons, Richard Reed and Thomas Carsner; two step grandsons, David (Amy) and Danny (Tammy) Frontz; two great-grandchildren, Danny Townsend and Aaliyah Ely; six step great-grandchildren, Clay, Courtney and Caitlynn Frontz, Chelsea, Kayley and Jacob Makeever; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Milton Ward; three sisters, Marie Foos, Phyllis Rorick and Norma Diebert; and two grandsons, Joshua Dean Reed and Justin David Brown.

Friends and family may visit from 5-8 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Carol Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
