The Guest Book is expired.
MARION: Phyllis Ann Williams, age 69, of Marion, died unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, June 6, 2012, at her mother's residence following a brief illness.
On October 10, 1942, Phyllis was born in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Samuel Fremont and Bernice Marie (Pfirsch) Huntsman. A lifelong resident of Marion, she graduated from Marion Harding High School in the Class of 1960.
For the past 26 years, Phyllis has worked as a custodian for the Marion City Schools. She also was a past member of the American Red Cross, whom she volunteered thru with the Marion General Hospital for over 20 years. She was a member of the Prospect St. United Methodist Church and formerly of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Very mothering by nature, Phyllis took great pride in caring for her family. She was there every step of the way for her parents, caring for their every need. She carried this same loving care over to her children and grandchildren, always looking out for their best interests.
An avid reader, Phyllis read anything she could get her hands on, everything from mysteries and romance novels to westerns. She also loved watching movies, with her favorite being Footloose.
Always keeping busy, Phyllis loved taking care of her yard and she especially enjoyed making sure her lawn was just so, mowing every two days.
To say Phyllis was "particular" would be an understatement, as she kept everything thoroughly in order, she recorded most every detail in her journal, and looked under every rock.
Having a heart of gold, everything Phyllis ever did was done out of love for her family and friends. She was a one-of-a-kind sweetheart, who would "do anything for anyone".
She will be dearly missed by her two children, Janet Lee (Tim) Van Gorden of Marion and Wayne Edward (Darcie) Williams of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren, Andrew, Ethan and Jacob Van Gorden, L. Cpl. Bryce (Erin) Williams and Tyler Williams; three step-grandchildren, Dustin, Stephie and Bradley Daniel; and many dear cousins and friends.
Phyllis' family will greet friends from 2 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services honoring her life will also be held there on Monday at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Rozell Sattler officiating. Entombment will follow in Marion Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Area Humane Society and they may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
