Virginia M. Spitzer
MARION: Virginia M. Spitzer, age 92, of Marion, died peacefully Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Partners of Marion under family care.
She was born January 25, 1920, in Marion to the late Joseph S. and Nellie B. (Price) Arthur. In 1941 she married Carl R. Spitzer, Sr., who died in 1987. Virginia retired from Fulfillment Corp. as a supervisor.
Survivors include two daughters, Abbie (Harvey) Woy of Pueblo, CO., Virginia Carol (Paul) Howard of Delaware, OH.; two sons, Carl "Bob" (Sherri) Spitzer, Jr., of Marion, Donald T. (Diane) Spitzer of Marion; two sisters, Ruth Knootz of Marion, Gertrude Ferriman of Albuquerque, NM.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren totaling 54; nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Charlotte Ann Hoffman and a brother, Jack Beck are deceased.
Virginia had been a volunteer at MARCA and most enjoyed being a homemaker doing baking, crochet, tatting, and swedish weaving.
Friends may call Sunday, July 1, 2012, from 3 to 5 PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A graveside service at Marion Cemetery will be held Monday, July 2, 2012, at 1 PM with Chaplain Pam Lamb-Hart officiating.
