Garold L. Wuertz

ARVADA, CO: Garold L. Wuertz, age 65 formerly of Delaware died Monday evening, June 16, 2014 at the Arvada Care Center in Arvada, Colorado.

He was born on September 15, 1948 in Columbus to the late Victor and Janet (Pence) Wuertz.

Garold proudly worked for the Riverside Dairy in Cardington, Ohio for many years. His skilled hands and engineering mind landed him other jobs ranging from a toy manufacturer to an auto parts supplier. Garold was a graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School with the class of 1966. He also attended Findlay College from 1966 through 1969.

On August 29, 1970, Garold married Janet Maxwell at the First United Methodist Church in Cardington and she preceded him in death on February 9, 2011.

Garold enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and participating in activities in the VFW of Delaware. He spent many hours creating toys, furniture, and other goods for his family members.

Garold is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline (Gary) Fairchild of Golden, Colorado; and one granddaughter, Maya Fairchild of Golden, Colorado. In addition to his wife and parents Garold was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Wuertz.

The Wuertz family will receive friends on Saturday June 21, 2014 from 11:00 AM until Noon at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 336 West Main Street in Cardington. The memorial service will begin in the church at noon with Pastor Patrick Kelly officiating. A time of fellowship will be observed immediately following the service in the church social hall.
