MANSFIELD: Christie A. Arnold, age 63, of Mansfield and formerly of Marion, died peacefully early Friday morning, July 4, 2014, following a battle with cancer at her daughter's home in Marion.
On April 27, 1951, Christie was born in Bakersfield, California, one of two children of the late Frank Roes and Mary (Terzo) Roes Sherer. As a family they moved to Marion, Ohio, when she was a child. She graduated from Marion Harding High School.
For over 25 years, Christie worked in the engineering department of Gorman Rupp in Mansfield, until she retired in 2011.
Very faithful, she was raised in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marion.
Christie loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She also loved tending to her flower garden at home, and loved the companionship of her dog, Gracie.
She was a strong and independent woman, who was also very love-able.
She will be missed by her two children: Chela Arnold of Marion, and Brad Arnold of Mansfield; six grandchildren: Jazmin, Alijah, Alex, Olivia, Blake, and Zaine; one great-granddaughter, La-Niyah; a brother, Jerry Roes of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; and her former husband, Leonard Arnold.
Her family will greet friends from 4 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8th, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services honoring her life will follow at 6:00 p.m., with Tom Stimson officiating.
