Marilyn Kay Hampton Smith

MARION: Marilyn Kay Hampton Smith, age 69, went home to be with her Lord November 1, 2012 at OSU hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Marilyn was born May 11, 1943, the daughter of the late Howard Hampton and Evelyn Prater Kinsler.

She graduated from New Bloomington High School in 1961, where she was the homecoming queen. Marilyn also graduated from Mansfield Business College in 1979, Cum Laude. She married Marvin Smith December 13, 1975. Together they built a business, Kleen Janitorial Service, and raised their four children. Marilyn was passionately devoted to her family, her church, but most importantly, her God. She and Marvin attended Apex Church in Marion.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Marvin; mother, Evelyn Kinsler; daughters, Angie (Jeff) Hall and Shelly (Jamie) Mergy; sons, Cliff (Laura) Smith and Rick (Deb) Gillon; grandsons, Tony, Nick, CJ, Daniel, and Evan; granddaughters, Nicole, Amber, Ivy, Sami-Kay, and Dani; and great-grandson, Drew Hammons.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Hampton; step-father, Clifford Kinsler; and granddaughter, Makenzee-Kay; and brother, Joe Dallen Hampton.

Our hearts are broken by her absence, but we are comforted by the knowledge that she is rejoicing with her Lord.

Funeral Services for Marilyn will be Wednesday November 7, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Apex Church in Marion, Ohio. Officiating the service will be Pastor's Ryan Chivington and Wynand De Wet. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday November 6, 2012 from 6 to 9 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James Cancer Clinic, or Apex Church. On line condolences to the family can be made at www.boydbornfuneralhome.com.
