Stephen and Carole Martha Woitovich

WEEKI WACHEE, FL: Stephen Woitovich, 77, of Weeki Wachee, FL, passed away in Brooksville, FL on September 6, 2012.

Steve was born July 31, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA, the oldest son of Samuel and Rose (Sawchak) Woitovich. He grew up in Pittsburgh and Girard, PA, where he became lifelong friends with many of his schoolmates. He graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School (Girard) in 1953.

Steve married his sweetheart, Carole Vorsheck, on November 26, 1955 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence Park, PA. While attending the University of Cincinnati, he became a devoted husband and father. Next, Steve's family moved back to Girard, PA, Youngstown, OH, and Lexington, OH, where he took jobs as a teacher and administrator at several schools for the mentally handicapped and developmentally disabled. He spent his entire career in the rewarding field of special education.

Steve's family finally settled in Marion, OH, where he first became the administrator of MARCA School, then the director of MARCA Industries. His successful career brought him many long lasting personal and professional friendships. An excellent athlete himself, Steve had a lifelong love for all sports, especially football, baseball, and golf. He enjoyed the last years of his retirement with Carole in Florida.

Steve was survived by his wife of 56 years, Carole, and his three sons, Stephen (Holly), of Matthews, NC, Michael (Laura), of Hilliard, OH, and Thomas (Megan) of Lewis Center, OH. He was very proud of his six grandchildren, Malorie, Samantha, Mandy, Nathan, Drew, and Lauren. He also had two surviving brothers, Theodore Woitovich and Daniel Woitovich both of California.

Steve was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Rose Woitovich.

On September 10, 2012 there was a memorial service and funeral at the Turner Funeral Home in Spring Hill, FL. Interment was at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens in Spring Hill, FL.

Steve's family has asked that any memorial contributions be made in his name to any of the following charitable organizations: , Special Olympics.

Carole Martha Woitovich, 76, of Weeki Wachee, FL, passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2013.

Carole was born April 17, 1936 in Harborcreek, PA, the oldest daughter of William and Dorothy (Decker) Vorsheck. She grew up in Lawrence Park, PA, where she became lifelong friends with many of her schoolmates. She graduated from Lawrence Park High School in 1954.

Carole then married the love of her life, Stephen Woitovich, on November 26, 1955 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence Park. After moving to Cincinnati, she became a devoted housewife and mother. Next, Carole moved to Girard, PA, Youngstown, OH, and Lexington, OH, where she took on a full time job as a secretary/receptionist at Lexington Realty, starting a new chapter in her life.

While maintaining her responsibilities as a wonderful wife, and mother to her three boys, her family settled in Marion, OH. It was in Marion where she earned her realtor's license that eventually led to obtaining her real estate broker's license. Carole used her experience and training to become the office manager at Dick Greer Realty. Already a successful businesswoman, when the opportunity came, Carole became co-owner of Realty Plus. Her successful real estate career brought her many long lasting personal and professional friendships. Carole cherished the company of her family and treasured her friends. Always a fun-loving person, she just enjoyed being with people, even if it was for a simple card game with her family or just chatting with friends. She enjoyed the last years of her retirement with Steve in Florida.

Carole is survived by her three sons, Stephen (Holly), of Matthews, NC, Michael (Laura), of Hilliard, OH, and Thomas (Megan) of Lewis Center, OH. She was very proud of her six grandchildren, Malorie, Samantha, Mandy, Nathan, Drew, and Lauren. She also had four surviving siblings, who were with her at her untimely passing, William J. Vorsheck, Rae McCaleb, Susan Vorsheck, and Timothy Vorsheck.

Carole was predeceased by her beloved late husband of 56 years, Stephen Woitovich; her parents, William and Dorothy Vorsheck; and her youngest brother, Tommy Vorsheck.

Arrangements will be carried out by the Turner Funeral Home in Spring Hill, FL (352-796-9661). There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on April 20, 2013 at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens in Spring Hill, FL (352-796-7080).
