James D. Holbrook

MARION: James D. Holbrook, age 83, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Marion General Hospital.

Born October 10, 1929 in Morral, Ohio to the late Henderson and Edna (Lewis) Holbrook. James was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked in maintenance at Central Soya.

James is survived by his wife, Roseanne M. (James) Holbrook; two sons, Tim (Rennee') Holbrook of Marion, Mark (Robin) Holbrook of Michigan; one sister, Delores Cochran of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Nicholas Holbrook, Seana Johnson, Alisha Holbrook, Ashley Holbrook; five great-grandchildren, four great step-grandchildren; and Katie the dog.

James is preceded in death by three sisters, Lou Hertz, Hazel Kocsis, and Dorothy Them.

James was a member of St Mary Church, VFW Post #7201, Elks Lodge #32, and past member of the Knights of Columbus Council #671.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery with the Marion County United Veterans Council conducting military honors.
