Reba Sue Cassity Neal
CORSICANA — Reba Sue Cassity Neal, 86, of Heritage Oaks Retirement Village in Corsicana, Texas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Navarro Regional Hospital. She was born January 29, 1927, to Augustus "A.G." Cassity and Lula Jewell Roquemore Cassity in Long Branch, Texas, in Panola County.
Reba married Edgar Eugene "Gene" Neal Jr., on August 8, 1953, in Carthage, Texas, and they made their home in Marshall, Texas, until their move to Corsicana in September of 2004. While a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Marshall, Reba served on the administrative board and was active in United Methodist Women (UMW). She became a member of the Eureka United Methodist Church in 2006.
She was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and received her master's degree from East Texas State University. She taught school for 28 years in Carthage, Aldine, New Boston, Mount Pleasant and Marshall. Reba was listed in Leaders of American Education in 1971 and was a life member of National Educational Association and Texas Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Neal Wisdom and husband, Mike, of Eureka; grandsons, David Wisdom and wife, Tara, of Trophy Club, Texas, and Robert Wisdom of Corpus Christi, Texas; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Wisdom of Trophy Club; nephews, Cecil A. "Sonny" Cassity, Bobby Cassity, Dr. John Cassity, Gus Cassity, Joe Allison, Sam Allison, Charlie Allison, Eddie Neal, Carl David Neal and Dr. Doug Neal; nieces, Jean Allison Bunyard, Patricia Pace Perdue, Marian Cassity Browning, Beth Cassity McClammy and Nancy Neal Laine; and numerous other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Cecil, Charles and Vinson; sisters, Mabel Cassity Pace and Fay Cassity Allison; and nephews, Bill Cassity, Reagan Cassity and Jimmy Cassity.
Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. today, April 20, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Amy Anderson and the Rev. Jerden Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews.
