MARSHALL — A memorial service for Chuck Ford, 52, of Marshall, will be 2 p.m. today, October 18, 2012, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Ford passed away October 9, 2012, in Wyoming.
Charles "Chuck" Ford was born November 30, 1959, in Marshall, to Lamar and Jean Ford. He attended school in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School in 1978. Chuck attended Texas A&M University
in College Station and later Louisiana State University
- Shreveport, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1983. In 1982, Chuck married MaLisa King.
After graduation, Chuck joined the family business and worked for the Flexcel Company in the oilfield industry. More recently he formed the CW Ford Rentals Company in Marshall, also in the oilfield industry.
Chuck worked with Little League as a coach and umpire. He was also involved in the Marshall Bass Club for many years. He was an avid poker player. Traveling with friends, especially to locations on the ocean and around the Gulf of Mexico, were his favorites.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Ford.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Turbyfill Ford; his brothers, Steve and wife, Eve, Patrick Ford and wife, Gay Lynn, and Marcus Ford; and sister, Debra Ford. Chuck is also survived by his nephews, Cory Owens, Ryan Ford, Evan Ford and Jameson Ford; his nieces, Brandi Jackson, Amy Owen, Megan Ford, Emily Ford and Josie Ford; aunt, Judy Mauldin; many cousins; and special friends, Sandy Ritter, Jim Dean and Mike Ritter.
