MARSHALL — A Mass of Christian burial for Paul William Heath, 73, of Marshall, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Denzil Vithanage officiating. Interment to follow in Yates Cemetery in Scottsville. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Heath passed away March 1, 2013, at his residence.
Paul William Heath was born October 8, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to William F. Heath and Dolores Sieve Heath. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas, in 1957. After graduation, Mr. Heath proudly served his country from 1957-59 in the U.S. Marine Corps
, attaining the rank of corporal at Camp Pendleton in California. He married Winnie Martin on February 19, 1966, in Marshall, Texas.
Mr. Heath worked for Fabsteel in Waskom, Morton Thiokol in Minden La., and Millenium Rail in Scottsville, where he retired as the safety environmental coordinator in 2007. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Winnie Heath of Marshall; his children, Aimee Heath of Marshall, Todd Heath and wife, Kathy, of Sugar Land, Jill Clark and husband, Allen, of Marshall, Kerry Pringle and husband, Zac, of Marshall, and Kirk Heath of Nacogdoches; and his grandchildren, Logan Elwood, Jake Clark, Caden Clark and Maggie Pringle, all of Marshall, and Ryan Heath and Brittany Heath, both of Sugar Land.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dolores Heath; sister, Lavene Hogan; and brothers, William F. Heath, Jr. and Michael E. Heath.
The family wishes to thank Faith Hospice of Longview for their loving care.
Pallbearers will be Todd Heath, Kirk Heath, Allen Clark, Zac Pringle, Logan Elwood and Ryan Heath.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Heath, Dennis Heath, Stephen Heath, David Dillehay, Ned Hogan, Thomas Boyea, Richard Storm and William Martin.
